Today was Kadence’s third birthday! Her big day lies awfully close to Christmas, and she’s received everything a little girl could ever hope for, besides a pony, perhaps. (Her grandpa did get a fluffy, new puppy though. That’s the next best thing! You can meet Tucker, here)
So what do you get a little girl who has everything? Cupcakes!
I’ve only been to one other cupcake shop, and they were so sweet, they burned my throat. I’ve been a little wary since, but have wanted to check out the local Little Cakes Cupcake Kitchen for almost a year now. When I saw that they had won Cupcake Wars on Food Network, I knew they couldn’t get by with horribly sweet frosting. A little girl’s birthday was the perfect excuse for me to try something tasty. I’m the one who gave birth to her, anyways, right?!
Kadence and I snuck in right after they opened, and Kadence was in heaven!
The shop is decorated with antique furniture and a great sage colored paint.
Then I had to choose…. I picked the Salted Chocolate Almond. It was a spectacular life choice.
Heavenlyyyy
Kadence was on the look out for PINK! She chose the Pink Lemonade cupcake. They gave her a sticker, and even put some special pink sprinkles on her cupcake.
She licked it before I had a chance to take a photo 🙂
We also got a chocolate cupcake for my son at home, but the box was shaken by a little person. I stole a few tastes of the frosting, though. You know… to make sure it hadn’t been damaged 😉
It’s safe to say, we’ll be back soon! Probably tonight since my husband is cupcake deprived 😉 Thank you Little Cakes for filling a void in my life that I didn’t even know existed.
